SDWC's 2nd Annual Summer Sing-Along! GREASE is the word! Special Screening will offer Plenty of Fun and Prizes! Dress Up in Poodle Skirts and Leather Jackets for Costume Contest! Click the poster link to the left for the official flyer.

Calling all you Pink Ladies, T-Birds, and beauty school dropouts: the San Diego Women's Chorus will present a very special screening of the hit musical Grease on Wednesday, July 14, at 7:30pm at the Ultra Star Cinemas located at 7510 Hazard Center Drive in Mission Valley. Grease is the word as your chills will be multiplyin' and the mood electrifyin' as everyone sings along to all the film's well-known hit songs with all the wonderful singers from the San Diego Women's Chorus and that good old gang from Rydell High.

This event which is open to the general public will feature a presentation of Grease, the most successful movie musical ever made, and will include opportunity drawings and a creative costume contest. The women of SDWC will help lead attendees through the many high-energy numbers in the film and promise other exciting audience participation moments as well. It will be one fun-filled evening of Summer Nights, Greased Lightning, and plenty of Hand Jive.

"We invite everyone to join us for this evening of silliness and song," said SDWC President Carin Scheinin. If you love musicals, if you miss Glee, if you have a crush on John Travolta and/or Olivia Newton-John, if you enjoy the freedom of singing in your seat in the safety of a dimly-lit theatre, then this is the event for you!

For the Record features some of our favorites:

Ave Maria • How Could Anyone? • Harriet Tubman • I Ain't Afraid • 1000 Grandmothers • When We Speak • Adiemus • Daisy Bell • The Poet Sings • When I Come Back

Check out the liner notes to get the inside scoop behind each song. This CD showcases the many talents of our singers, including poetry, songwriting, and an occasional musical instrument! And of course several wonderful arrangements by our artistic director, Christopher Allen!
