GALA Choruses Festival 2024 logo

SDWC is excited to head to GALA Festival 2024 in Minneapolis, MN this July.

GALA Festival is five days of singing, connecting, and creating. It’s wall-to-wall concerts, workshops, social events, joy and pride. It’s the largest LGBTQ choral event in the world. Festival is thousands of musicians taking over a city and filling it with song.

This quadrennial Festival gathers LGBTQ+ choruses from all over North America and the world. The last festival was held in 2016 in Denver CO, with more than 130 choruses and 6000 singers. The next Festival was scheduled for 2020, but was unfortunately canceled due to the Covid pandemic. SDWC is thrilled to rejoin our friends and fellow singers at GALA Festival 2024 to create music together again after an 8-year gap.

GALA Choruses is a non-profit organization that serves an association of LGBTQ choruses in North America. They represent the largest group of choirs in the global LGBTQ Choral Movement. GALA Choruses cultivates the artistic development of 15,000 singers from nearly 200 choruses in the United States, Mexico, and Canada. Member choruses of all sizes are welcome to join GALA.

SDWC is fundraising to help our members attend GALA this summer. To contribute to the Singers Travel Fund, visit https://sdwc.charityproud.org/Donate or email us. Any amount will help our singers secure travel and accommodations for the week-long event.
